*** Da Newz...: Allright! version 0.8 already! some more changes... first of all, some sub-forums where added to the forums, which brings me to my next point... from now on, I'll do all the news/updates in the forums, instead of putting them on the site. version 0.8 will be the latest version to have the news on this page.. it will dissapear on the next update. as you also may have noticed, the 'we love' section has dissapeared from this page, as it has gotten it's own page... do you want your link added? don't hesitate to contact Knoeki, he can probably add it for you when he isn't a lazy cunt again. Now, with all the counting that keeps going up... we're slowly heading towards 1.0! but it's not that far yet, hell no. version 1.0 will be released on the official birthdate of #zomgwtfbbq ( the date we registered the channel on P2P-NET ). Coinicidentially, this is on the 20th of April... 4/20, in american date notations :D now, this is still far away, so I'll stop talking about this... we'll try to arrange something funny though... .. . Miffy had various scripts, such as a drug-vending script. we played around with the bot for fun, and also started talking about a lot of other things, a lot of random stuff really. we started playing small pranks on stupid people, as a little joke. also non-drug related people joined. At a certain point, the bot was removed ( Illegal bot! ) and a server rule was added that talking about drugs was illegal. the channel was once again shut down ( obviously ). The channel was dead for about a month, untill Claudy brought me to P2P-NET. here it was nice and secure, and good services. also a bigger server which was more stable. so after that month, I started the channel there. the bot and some people from the other channel came along as well, although not everyone, unfortunately. more and more people started comming in, and it got more popular. this had (and has) it's downside, as we also got enemies... .. . to this day, we are still being boycotted by leecherslair. if you are a member there, you are not allowed on #zomgwtfbbq, and if you go there, you will be banned from leecherslair. they apparently do not realize that whatever happens outside of their channel, is out of their control. We now have an average of 23 people idling in the channel daily. at one point I might add a small statistic about where people come from ;) so why this site? well, you should see it as an extension of the channel. it's just a place to rant about stuff, and just because I wanted to make a website for it. we have gamers, linux geeks, apple users, DJ's, stoners, retro-lovers, and whatnot. if you ever feel like chatting about random stuff, join us! we are tolerant about nearly everything, and we won't bite! ( not painful anyway ;) ). .. ... .... ..... ....... ........ ......... ........ ....... ...... ..... .... ... .. . *** Channel Guidelines: we don't really have strict rules, because that just sucks. instead we have so-called 'guidelines'. We don't give a fuck if you break them, and especially if you are an ok person most of the time, but don't whine if we kick you ;) -> Yes, there are girls on the channel. get over it and don't act like some fucking horny teenager. ( even if you are a teenager, it still isn't justified. ) -> Don't bitch about finlinks (links with disgusting content) that are posted. if you click a link, it is your responsibility. -> If you don't listen to the ops/owners, you might get kicked, and in the worst case, banned. We are ofcoz open for discussion, but for IRC chanops is an unwritten rule; 'he who has power has any excuse to use or abuse his powers as he sees fit'. so make sure you keep them as friends ;) -> When you join the channel, please idle for a while. if you join, say hi, and part the channel after one minute, you will never get a reply on any channel, unless you have the luck that people are chatting at that very moment. idling is the key to IRC success. -> Please, if you have a registered nickname, identify properly. else we get these floods of nick-changes, as some clients change nicks back automatically when they are forced changed. if you are being annoying, you first get kicked, 2nd time a kick, 3rd time ban for ~24 hours. after that, you will get banned 'permanently'. All bans are cleared every now and then, because I believe that everyone deserves a lot of chances. you must have done something terribly wrong if you REALLY get a permanent ban, one that WON'T be removed from the list, even if we do a ban-list cleanup.
